Just for fun, I put the covers that are dated May, 1977 in the banner box on the top of all the picture pages. That is the month that Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope came out. Of course, given the way that things work, the issues actually on the newsstand at that time were probably dated June or July.
What's under way? Adding a bunch of really nice 50's and 60's Front Page Detective and others that were on Ebay recently. Most have been part of a hoard.

Joe Koomen emailed a shockingly (for the time) sensational cover - Special Detective, February, 1952.
What's under way? The Newsstand is up and running. Only done to 1939, so far. More to come as time allows. See what issues were on the newsstand at the same time. Well, approximately the same time.

Walter L. Gay emailed a beautiful cover - Startling Detective, September 1939.
What's under way? The new project is underway. A tiny nibble here. Things start off kind of slow in the '20's, but pick up rapidly, and by 1940 there are almost 20 titles per month!

Received a nice email from Jackie M. who offered an issue that wasn't currently pictured. The cover in question was one I have that I'm in the process of upgrading. Thanks for the offer, though! If any reader has a picture of a cover that is missing/not-so-great on the site please let me know since I may not have it. Of course, as I told Jackie, there are HUNDREDS of missing/substandard covers. I'd love to buy them all, but where'd I put them? If you have the ability to take a picture or scan your cover and send it to me, I'll give you picture credit under the picture and link to your ebay store or website of your choosing.

True Magazine is complete. The covers that had nudity were not included.
I noticed that the April, 1975 cover of True reminded me a lot of "The Homer", the auto designed by Homer Simpson on 'The Simpsons' episode 'O Brother, Where Art Thou' (S02E15). What do you think?
I also noted that the June, 1975 issue has a gal on the cover wearing a scold's bridle (or branks, depending on who you ask). To my knowledge, this is the only such occurance on a mainstream cover. And I also thought: not only can she not talk, but with that nose piece how would she blow her nose (asked by someone with seasonal allergies in full swing...)
